What is PITOT STATIC?

omicron

ATEQ Aviation Department was established as a result of merging OMICRON into the ATEQ Group, a company that has been a world leader in the production of specialized devices for servicing and calibrating aircraft equipment for over 20 years.

ATEQ has developed and implemented in aviation companies around the world:

  • on-board equipment automated “PITOT STATIC” testers for flight altitude and speed measurement (ADSE 7xx series),
  • “PITOT STATIC” testers for on-board equipment manufacturers, as well as for hangars, laboratories, for testing directly on aircraft,
  • battery testing stations for aircraft batteries,
  • leak detectors for on-board circuits,
  • micro-ohmmeters for electric continuity testing (AX 6000).

What is a “PITOT STATIC” tester?
The “PITOT STATIC” tester is a pressure generating and measuring device designed to simulate pressure fluctuations recorded by on-board flight equipment. Parameters that can be simulated using the “PITOT STATIC” tester are flight altitude, flight speed, and the angle of attack necessary in the case of combat aircraft.

What is a “PITOT STATIC” tester needed for?
Flight instruments must be properly calibrated to properly indicate current flight conditions. This is necessary at every stage of production, repair or assembly. The “PITOT STATIC” tester generates pressure or vacuum simulating flight speed or altitude, which allows for comparison of flight instrument readings with values generated by the tester.

The following instruments may be verified by “PITOT STATIC” testers:

  • altimeters indicating flight altitude,
  • airspeed indicators indicating flight speed,
  • variometers indicating vertical rate of climb or descent,
  • on-board computers,
  • on-board computer sensors,
  • safety sensors,
  • pressure sensors.
